Terms of Use

Effective and last updated: August 17, 2026

Use Octomuse only for content you own or are authorized to publish. Review every setting before posting: Octomuse submits content to TikTok only after you explicitly tap “Confirm and Post.”

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Octomuse mobile application, website, conversational assistant, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

You must have legal capacity to enter into these Terms and meet the minimum age required by applicable law and any connected third-party service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.

2. The Octomuse service

Octomuse is a conversational content task assistant for creators. The Service may help you review eligible tasks, preview selected content, prepare captions and hashtags, configure publishing settings, connect a TikTok account, submit creator-confirmed content, and review publishing or performance information.

Task cards, recommendations, estimated rewards, deadlines, and performance information are informational until confirmed by the relevant system of record. Viewing a task card does not mean you accepted the task. Starting a task does not mean the content has been successfully published.

3. Your account

Octomuse currently supports registration and login using a mobile phone number and verification code. You must provide accurate information, protect access to your device and account, and promptly notify us through in-app support if you suspect unauthorized use.

You are responsible for activities performed through your account unless caused by Octomuse’s failure to use reasonable security measures.

4. Your content and responsibilities

You retain ownership of content you provide. You grant Octomuse a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, preview, format, transmit, and display that content only as necessary to provide the Service.

You may upload or publish only content that you created or are authorized to use and publish. You are responsible for captions, hashtags, disclosures, claims, music rights, likeness rights, intellectual property permissions, campaign requirements, and legal compliance.

You must not use the Service to publish unlawful, deceptive, infringing, abusive, unsafe, or unauthorized content, or to impersonate another person.

5. TikTok connection and publishing

TikTok connection is optional and requires authorization through TikTok. You control whether to connect an account and may revoke access through TikTok’s settings.

Before publishing, Octomuse presents the selected video and available publishing information for review. You are responsible for confirming the correct TikTok account, video, caption, hashtags, privacy setting, interaction permissions, and commercial content disclosure.

Octomuse submits content only after you explicitly tap “Confirm and Post.” Opening TikTok, initiating an API request, receiving a publish ID, or completing an Octomuse processing step does not by itself mean the post is live. The final result depends on TikTok’s processing and moderation status.

Your use of TikTok is also governed by TikTok’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and other applicable platform rules.

6. Tasks, deadlines, and rewards

Task eligibility, availability, deadlines, required disclosures, performance conditions, and rewards may vary. A recommendation is not a guarantee that a task will remain available or that you will receive a reward.

You must complete all stated requirements and maintain qualifying content for the required period. Published content may remain under review or monitoring before a task is marked completed or a reward becomes payable.

7. Acceptable use

  • Do not bypass security, rate limits, access controls, or user confirmation.
  • Do not use automation to publish in bulk or operate accounts without authorization.
  • Do not interfere with the Service, reverse engineer protected components, introduce malware, or scrape data without permission.
  • Do not manipulate engagement, misrepresent commercial relationships, or violate third-party platform rules.

8. Availability and third-party services

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law or platform requirements, or improve the Service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

TikTok and other connected services are operated independently. Their APIs, permissions, review processes, moderation decisions, outages, and policy changes are outside Octomuse’s control.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service or request account deletion at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a violation, security risk, legal requirement, misuse, or material harm to users, Octomuse, or third parties.

Termination does not automatically delete content already published to TikTok. You must manage published posts through the applicable TikTok account.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Octomuse does not guarantee task availability, publication approval, reach, engagement, earnings, or uninterrupted third-party services.

To the extent permitted by law, Octomuse will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss caused by unauthorized content, third-party platform decisions, or your failure to review publishing settings. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the Service, law, or platform requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice where required. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

For questions about these Terms, contact Octomuse through the Help & Support channel in the Octomuse app.
